Thanks for stopping by! I hope we will be close friends soon.
I'm here to share some of my struggles in hopes that it will help you with yours. I want to provide an inviting space for you to visit, read and find peace and encouragement for the day you face. Know that I'm praying for you even though I don't know you're name or have seen your precious face.
I hope you will make yourself at home here and visit often.
I live in north Georgia with my pastor husband. We've been married 34 years and have a 30 year old son (when did that happen??). We are humbled by God's grace on our lives and the many opportunities He has given us to serve Him in churches in Alabama and Georgia and as international missionaries in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I currently work as an administrative assistant at a small liberal arts college so I understand the nuances of juggling lots of roles and still find time for Jesus.
I'm a former Bible curriculum writer for LifeWay Church Resources and have written devotionals, cover stories, and feature articles for Journey, Discipleship Journal, Missions Mosaic, and other periodicals.
Speaking, teaching, and writing are my greatest joys. I've taught countless Bible studies over the years, some of which I've written (I hope to add these to my website soon) . I love to see how God uses His word to change the lives of those who hear and respond to it. So, if your church or women's group ever needs a speaker, it would be a pleasure to minister to you through God's Word.
I would love to speak at your next women's event!
If you’re like me, my biggest obstacle to Christ-likeness is overcoming sinful thoughts. Jesus said, “A good man (and woman) brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart (thoughts)... For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” (Luke 6:45) Our sweet Jesus knows us so well! Discover how to change your mind and thoughts to align with God’s word.
Tired of being strong? As women, it seems we have to be strong for everyone but God desires more for us. He wants to be strong for us. Learn how God strengthens us through His Word in order to overcome the the circumstances you face.
We are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works. He's given us everything we need to carry out that good work. We have no excuse. What good work will you be known for? What good work has God called you to?
I am thankful for Sylvia, her knowledge of God’s word, and for her enthusiasm when teaching either directly from the Bible, a Bible-based book study, or her own written God-inspired study. You can tell her spirit is filled with pure enjoyment when speaking. She keeps our attention, and is engaging from start to finish.
